Authentication bypass via type-coercing password comparison

Improper authentication in affected Moodle LMS releases allows remote authenticated users to bypass external database login checks. The external database authentication path compares submitted and stored password values with type-coercing logic, allowing crafted values to compare as equal. The flaw is reachable when external database authentication is enabled and permits actions as the matched account, affecting data integrity without a reported disclosure or outage.
