CVE-2021-40680Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated file read via unneutralized filename traversal

Published Apr 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Path traversal in Artica Proxy 4.30.000000 SP206 through SP255 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files. The CGI builds a path from the filename parameter without neutralizing traversal sequences, allowing reads outside the intended web-filtering directory. Low-privileged web-console access is required, and the CGI returns files readable by its HTTP daemon, including /etc/passwd on the tested VMware appliance through SP273.
