Database access via hard-coded PostgreSQL credentials
Published Nov 10, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Hard-coded credentials in Airangel HSMX Gateway firmware through 5.2.04 allow remote attackers to access the PostgreSQL database. The firmware stores a fixed PostgreSQL username and password in a configuration file, so affected appliances rely on the same database secret. Exploitation requires network reachability to PostgreSQL and grants the database permissions assigned to that account, including access to read or modify records.
