CVE-2021-40503

Backend account impersonation via exposed password equivalent

Published Nov 10, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Insufficient credential protection in SAP GUI for Windows before 7.60 PL13 and 7.70 PL4 allows local users to obtain a password equivalent. SAP has not publicly identified the credential store, memory region, or protection failure that exposes the reusable secret. Access requires sufficient privileges on the client PC; the recovered secret permits impersonation of the connected SAP user within that account's backend authorizations.
