Code execution via out-of-bounds EMF parsing
Published Oct 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds access in Visio for Microsoft Office 2019, Office LTSC 2021, and Microsoft 365 Apps allows remote attackers to execute code. The EMF parser fails to validate user-supplied data before indexing an allocated buffer, causing memory access past its end. Execution occurs in the current process and requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
