Code execution through undisclosed codec flaw
Published Dec 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Remote code execution in Microsoft HEVC Video Extensions before 2.0.23022.0 allows local users to execute code after user interaction. Microsoft has not published the affected parser locus or the operation it performs incorrectly on untrusted HEVC content. The local, unauthenticated vector requires user interaction, and successful exploitation executes code in the affected user's context.
