CVE-2021-40411Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated command execution via unvalidated DNS setting

Published Jan 28, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025

OS command injection in Reolink RLC-410W firmware 3.0.0.136_20121102 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. The bc_dns_set function inserts the SetLocalLink API's unvalidated dns2 value into a shell command and passes the resulting string to pip_system. Access to the privileged network-settings API is required, after which injected commands execute on the camera with the device service's authority.
