Memory disclosure via uninitialized rotation value
Published Feb 4, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Information disclosure in Gerbv 2.7.0, forked 2.8.0, and dev commit b5f1eacd allows remote attackers to leak memory via a crafted file. pick_and_place_parse_file passes an uninitialized PnpPartData.rotation value onward when sscanf fails to parse a numeric rotation, and rendering encodes that stack value in the object's angle. Exposure requires processing attacker-controlled input and access to the rendered output; disclosure is limited to memory inferred from object rotation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
