Improper authentication in otris Update Manager 1.2.1.0 allows local users to gain SYSTEM access via unauthenticated .NET named-pipe calls. Exposed interfaces accept unauthenticated requests over a .NET named pipe, while WsHTTPBinding can expose the same service to HTTP traffic on TCP port 9000. Local access is sufficient for privilege escalation; a remote path is described as possible when that HTTP binding is reachable.
