Patient record disclosure via forbidden response body
Published Apr 6, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper access control in Apperta Foundation OpenEyes 3.5.1 allows remote authenticated users to read sensitive patient records. A direct request to a patient-profile URL returns the full response body after authorization fails and the rendered page displays Forbidden. A low-privilege account and a known patient URL expose PII and medical history, with no reported ability to modify records or interrupt service.
