CVE-2021-40359Network attack vector

Authenticated file disclosure via download path traversal

Published Nov 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Path traversal in Siemens SIMATIC products allows remote authenticated users to read critical server files through crafted downloads. The shared SIMATIC Communication Services component fails to neutralize special pathname elements before resolving a requested download. Low-privileged network access to the download function is required; the documented impact is file disclosure without modification or service interruption.
