CVE-2021-40354Network attack vector

Account takeover via unchecked surrogate assignment

Published Sep 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper privilege management in affected Siemens Teamcenter 12.4–13.2 releases allows remote authenticated users to take over accounts. The user-profile surrogate function fails to verify whether a profile is authorized to assign itself as another user's surrogate. Any application profile can reach the flaw and access the other user's assigned inbox and surrogate tasks, exposing task data and limited task actions.
