Unauthenticated action via unvalidated admin cookie
Published Sep 1, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper authentication in Christie Digital DWU850-GS V06.46 allows remote attackers to bypass authentication and perform any action via crafted queries. The webctrl.cgi.elf handler accepts a supplied Cookie header and fails to validate an administrative cookie, allowing the request to reach privileged device actions. Network access to the projector is sufficient; successful exploitation can disclose data, alter device state, or interrupt service.
