Inadequate encryption in Hitachi Energy FOXMAN-UN and UNEM allows local users to decrypt stored network-element credentials. The products use the inadequate-strength DES cipher to encrypt user credentials retained for access to managed network elements. Local access to the credential database is required; exploitation exposes those credentials without a reported ability to alter data or interrupt service.
