Unauthenticated code execution via stored Error Log XSS
Published Sep 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in the Webuzo admin panel before 2.9.0 allows remote attackers to run code after an administrator opens Error Log. A request to a nonexistent page stores attacker-controlled content that the Error Log view renders without safe output encoding. Exploitation requires an administrator to view the poisoned log entry; the injected script can use the administrator session to configure a Cron Job and execute commands without prior authentication.
