CVE-2021-4016

Local file disclosure via readable snapshot directory

Published Jan 21, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Improper access control in Rapid7 Insight Agent before 3.1.3 allows local users to read files from the agent snapshot directory. Access controls on the snapshot directory fail to exclude non-system users from files such as asset_info.json and file_info.json. Local access as a non-system user is sufficient to copy snapshot files, exposing collected asset and file metadata without altering it.
