Service interruption via out-of-bounds buffer access
Published Aug 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Out-of-bounds access in OPC Foundation Local Discovery Server before 1.04.402.463 allows remote attackers to interrupt service with crafted messages. The service accesses memory after the end of a message buffer; OPC Foundation has not disclosed the affected parser, field, or exact operation. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the resulting failure is confined to the restartable LDS process.
