Denial of service in Knot Resolver before 5.3.2 allows remote attackers to interrupt DNS resolution via crafted NSEC3 wildcard proofs. The validator asserts when processing an NSEC3 record with more than the permitted iteration count during a positive wildcard proof, terminating the resolver process. No authentication or user interaction is required; triggering the assertion can make the DNS service unavailable.
