CVE-2021-39995Network attack vector

Module reset via OpenHpi parser over-read

Published Nov 29, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in OpenHpi parsing in Huawei eCNS280_TD and eSE620X vESS allows remote authenticated users to reset a module. The undisclosed parser reads beyond its intended buffer while processing data returned by OpenHpi; Huawei has not published the function name or malformed input. Exploitation requires high privileges and network connectivity to an affected device running eCNS280_TD V100R005C10 or eSE620X vESS V100R001C10SPC200, V100R001C20SPC200, or V200R001C00SPC300.
