CVE-2021-39892Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Email disclosure via unauthorized member import

Published Jan 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper authorization in GitLab 12.0 through 14.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to disclose pending members' email addresses. The project-member import endpoint accepts a source_project_id for a public project or a private project where the requester has only Guest access, then imports pending members whose email addresses are otherwise hidden. A user must own a destination project, but needs neither Maintainer access to the source project nor access to its pending-member emails.
