Improper authorization in GitLab EE allows remote authenticated users to read private group details and issue and merge request templates via the project API. The project-details endpoint returns shared private-group metadata and configured issue and merge-request template contents without checking whether the reader is entitled to those fields. Access requires a logged-in user with project read permission, and exposed templates can contain sensitive information or links to uploaded files; the issue documents confidentiality impact without integrity or availability impact.
