Confidential Epic reference disclosure via unchecked issue moves
Published Oct 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper access control in GitLab 10.6 through 14.1.6, 14.2 through 14.2.4, and 14.3.0 lets remote authenticated users read Epic references. The same-group issue-move workflow fails to reapply permission rules before resolving confidential Epic references. Exploitation requires low-privileged access, user interaction, and an issue linked to a confidential Epic that the attacker cannot otherwise view.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=>=10.6, <14.1.7
