Script execution via unsanitized upload filename
Published Nov 15, 2024 · Updated Nov 20, 2024
DOM-based XSS in Calibre-Web before 0.6.15 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through a crafted upload filename. The #btn-upload-cover and #btn-upload-format change handlers pass the selected filename to jQuery html() instead of rendering it as text. Execution requires a user to select the crafted file in the book-editing workflow, after which script runs in that user's browser and can access or alter page data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
