Expired-password token access to Git and API
Published Oct 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Improper access control in GitLab 14.1 through 14.3.0 allows remote authenticated users with expired passwords to access Git and API via old tokens. Token authentication fails to enforce the account's password-expiration state, so tokens issued before expiration continue authorizing repository and API requests. The attacker must already hold a valid access token; impact is unauthorized read access to data available through that token, with no evidence of integrity or availability impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
