Code execution via malicious PDF out-of-bounds write
Published Sep 29, 2021 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in Adobe FrameMaker 2019 Update 8 and earlier and 2020 Release Update 2 and earlier allows attackers to execute code. Adobe has not disclosed the affected PDF-parsing routine or the malformed field that causes it to write beyond an intended buffer. A local user must open a malicious PDF; successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code in the context of that user.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
