Unauthorized device access via recoverable hard-coded credentials

Hard-coded credentials in D-Link DVX-2000MS firmware allow remote attackers to gain unauthorized device access through Telnet. The firmware stores password hashes for undocumented accounts in /etc/passwd using weak passwords that dictionary attacks recover. Possession of a recovered username and password permits Telnet login to the underlying embedded Linux system with the account's privileges.
