Unauthenticated command execution via crafted username
Published Aug 24, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Command injection in D-Link DIR-816 A1 firmware 1.01CNB04 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute commands via an HTTP request. The /goform/form2userconfig.cgi handler builds a user-deletion shell command from the username parameter without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Network access to the router web interface requires no authentication; injected commands run on the device and can shut it down.
