Stored XSS via unvalidated ticket attachments
Published Nov 19, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in django-helpdesk before 0.3.1 allows remote attackers to execute script in a ticket viewer's browser via a crafted attachment. The process_attachments function saves an Attachment without calling full_clean(), allowing HTML or SVG payloads to bypass model validation. A victim must open the uploaded attachment; successful exploitation runs same-origin script in that viewer's session.
