CVE-2021-3948Network attack vector

Unauthorized workload migration via namespace permissions

Published Feb 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Incorrect default permissions in Red Hat Migration Toolkit for Containers 1.5 and 1.6 allow remote authenticated users to migrate malicious workloads to a target cluster. The mig-controller mishandles cluster namespace permissions, permitting a workload migration outside the intended authorization boundary. Access requires authenticated cluster privileges, and a successful migration can expose, alter, or disrupt services running on the target cluster.
