Privilege escalation via unneutralized profile-image filename
Published Dec 15, 2022 · Updated Apr 21, 2025
Cross-site scripting in Users.php in EyouCMS 1.5.4 allows remote authenticated users to escalate privileges via a profile-image filename. The edit_users_head_pic path accepts a crafted filename that Users.php incorporates into web output without neutralizing executable script content. Low-privileged access and interaction by another user are required; successful execution can expose data or perform actions in the affected browser context.
