Unauthenticated administrator creation via client-controlled role
Published Jun 24, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Authentication bypass in Online Student Rate System 1.0 allows remote attackers to create administrator accounts without authentication. The signup handler at /ajax.php?action=signup accepts a client-controlled userLevelId value of -1 and creates an administrator account. Network access to the signup endpoint is sufficient, and the resulting account grants access to the administrative panel.
