Database disclosure via unfiltered banner identifier
Published Oct 6, 2021 · Updated Feb 14, 2025
SQL injection in WP Bannerize 2.0.0 through 4.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to read sensitive database data via a crafted id parameter. The updateBannerFromLocal, setBannerToTrash, unsetBannerToTrash, and deleteBanner functions interpolate the POST id value into SQL queries without filtering it. Access to the WordPress dashboard is required, and successful exploitation exposes records stored in the site's database.
