Script execution via unescaped player_id reflection
Published Oct 6, 2021 · Updated Feb 14, 2025
Reflected XSS in FolioVision FV Flowplayer Video Player 7.5.0.727 through 7.5.2.727 allows remote attackers to run scripts via player_id. The stats view returns the player_id query value in its HTML response without context-appropriate escaping, causing crafted markup to execute in the viewing browser. Exploitation requires a user to open a crafted stats-page request; script execution occurs within that user's WordPress origin and privileges.
