Admin-only stored XSS via unsanitized settings parameters
Published Oct 15, 2021 · Updated Feb 14, 2025
Stored XSS in Kajoom KJM Admin Notices 2.0.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through plugin settings. The settings handler in admin/class-kjm-admin-notices-admin.php stores several submitted parameters without sufficient validation or sanitization, including the role-or-capability setting demonstrated by the public proof of concept. Administrator access is required, and exposure is limited to multisite or other installations where unfiltered_html is disabled; the stored payload executes when a user views the affected administrative content.
