Reflected script execution via unescaped msg parameter
Published Dec 14, 2021 · Updated Jan 31, 2025
Reflected XSS in DuoGeek Simple Image Gallery 1.0.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to run scripts via a crafted msg parameter. simple-image-gallery.php reflects the msg request value into an HTML response without neutralizing script-capable content; this code belongs to DuoGeek's WordPress plugin, not JoomlaWorks' Joomla extension. Exploitation requires a user to open an attacker-crafted URL, after which the injected script executes in that site's browser context.
