Denial of service in Go archive/zip before 1.16.8 and Go 1.17.0 allows attackers to crash an application via a crafted ZIP archive. The reader uses the declared directory-record count to size its file slice after an overflow-prone bounds check, causing a panic or fatal allocation error. Reachability requires a consuming application to pass an attacker-controlled ZIP archive to NewReader or OpenReader; only that process's availability is affected.
