Credential disclosure via cleartext and static-key storage
Published Aug 23, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Credential disclosure in NetModule Router Software before 4.3.0.113, 4.4.0.111, or 4.5.0.105 allows remote attackers to read passwords. The certificates page returns its passphrase in cleartext, while exported configuration files encrypt passwords with Blowfish-CBC using a fixed key and initialization vector. User-password storage is optional, but certificate-passphrase exposure is unavoidable; recovered credentials enable access to affected device accounts.
