Unauthenticated diagnostic access via hard-coded CGI credentials
Published Aug 23, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Hard-coded credentials in Altus Nexto and Hadron Xtorm firmware allow remote attackers to access the getlogs.cgi diagnostic endpoint. The /etc/lighttpd/lighttpd-auth.conf file stores a shared plaintext Basic-auth account, and lighttpd.conf makes it the sole access check for /cgi/getlogs.cgi. Network access is sufficient; the account bypasses application-level user authentication and exposes packet-capture functionality, while this CVE alone does not grant command execution.
