Configuration changes via unprotected CGI requests
Published Aug 23, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
CSRF in Altus Nexto, Nexto Xpress, and Hadron Xtorm firmware allows remote attackers to change device settings through the web interface. The web configuration interface accepts cross-origin, state-changing CGI requests as the victim, allowing a malicious page to submit configuration changes. Exploitation requires a device operator to visit a malicious website from a browser that can reach the management interface; the disclosed impact is limited to settings changes.
