Local file disclosure via external entity resolution
Published Sep 16, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
XXE in Apache Jena 4.1.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to read local files through attacker-controlled XML processing. Jena's XML parser resolves external entity URIs from supplied XML instead of restricting references outside the intended data boundary. Exploitation requires an application or service to pass untrusted XML into the affected parser and can send the resulting file contents to a remote server.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
