Database read and write via unrestricted search columns
Published Aug 26, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
SQL injection in Cachet 2.3.18 and earlier allows remote attackers to read or modify database data through unauthenticated searches. SearchableTrait::scopeSearch() verifies that at least one supplied key is searchable but passes the entire attacker-controlled array to the query builder, allowing unapproved keys to become SQL column expressions. No authentication is required; successful requests can expose administrator passwords and sessions or alter database records.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
