CVE-2021-39152Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Internal resource access via URLData object injection

Published Aug 23, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

SSRF in XStream before 1.4.18 allows remote authenticated users to access internal URL resources through crafted input streams. During unmarshalling, XStream instantiates attacker-specified jdk.nashorn.internal.runtime.Source$URLData objects whose URL handling fetches the supplied location. Reachability requires Java 8 through 14 and an application that processes attacker-controlled serialized data without a minimal type allowlist.
