Remote code execution via injected object types

Deserialization in XStream 1.4.17 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through a crafted input stream. During unmarshalling, attacker-controlled type metadata makes XStream instantiate injected object graphs that load code from a remote host. The affected state is the default blacklist configuration; a minimal type whitelist blocks the gadget chain and bounds exposure to applications that deserialize untrusted data.
