Email address disclosure via anonymous user search
Published Sep 8, 2021 · Updated Oct 10, 2024
Information disclosure in Atlassian Jira Server and Data Center allows remote attackers to read users' email addresses without authentication. The /rest/api/2/search endpoint returns email fields in anonymous user-search results; Atlassian has not published the faulty internal code path. Affected branches are before 8.5.13, 8.6.0 through 8.13.4, and 8.14.0 through 8.15.0; anonymous network access is sufficient, and the impact is limited to disclosure of user email addresses.
