Script injection via unsanitized pasted PDF content
Published Aug 30, 2021 · Updated Oct 11, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Atlassian Jira Server and Data Center before 8.5.18 allows remote attackers to inject script through pasted content. The Editor plugin accepts HTML carried from copied PDF content and inserts it into fields such as Description without neutralizing executable markup; affected branches are before 8.5.18, 8.6.0 through 8.13.9, and 8.14.0 through 8.18.1. A user must paste attacker-supplied content into the editor, after which the injected script runs in the browser and can read or modify data available to that session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
