Credential disclosure via stored Web UI script
Published Jun 24, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Cross-site scripting in IBM Cognos Analytics 11.1.7, 11.2.0, and 11.2.1 lets remote attackers run JavaScript in a trusted Web UI session. The Web UI accepts user-supplied content without adequate validation and renders it as executable script, enabling alteration of displayed functionality and possible credential disclosure when a trusted user views the content. Exploitation requires network access and victim interaction with the affected page; impact is bounded to browser-session confidentiality and integrity.
