Channel interception via improper certificate validation
Published Apr 22, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper certificate validation in Motorola Ready For and Device Help before 2021-04-08 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to access communications. The applications accept a server certificate without properly authenticating it, but Motorola has not disclosed the affected code path or exact validation error. Exploitation requires user interaction and an attacker able to present a crafted certificate, exposing channel confidentiality and integrity.
