Masked-data disclosure via CREATE TABLE AS SELECT
Published Mar 14, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Information disclosure in IBM Data Virtualization 1.3.0, 1.4.1, 1.5.0, and 1.7.1 through 1.7.3 allows remote authenticated users to read masked data. A successful CREATE TABLE AS SELECT statement with WITH DATA fails to enforce Watson Knowledge Catalog masking rules and writes unmasked values into the new table. Exploitation requires high privileges and access to governed source data; confidentiality is exposed without reported integrity or availability impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
