Credential disclosure via stored Web UI scripts
Published Sep 23, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in IBM Aspera on Cloud allows remote authenticated users to expose credentials through its Web UI. The Web UI stores user-supplied JavaScript and executes it in a trusted session instead of neutralizing the script before rendering. An authenticated account can plant the script, which changes Web UI behavior and exposes credentials when the stored content runs in that trusted session.
