CVE-2021-38863

Local credential disclosure via cleartext storage

Published Sep 23, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Cleartext credential storage in IBM Security Verify Bridge 1.0.5.0 allows local users to read stored user credentials. IBM identifies credential storage as the affected locus but does not publish the file, function, or operation that leaves the values in cleartext. A user must already have low-privilege local access, and the documented impact is credential disclosure without data modification or service interruption.
